Hard Science Fiction

Hard Science Fiction

What is Hard Science Fiction?

Hard Science Fiction is defined as an emphasis on scientific or technical detail, or on scientific accuracy, or on both.  The science behind the Star Jump Chronicles is based on the Four Fundamental Forces of Nature.

Those forces are defined as Gravity, Electro-Magnetism, Strong Nuclear Force or Nuclear Fusion and weak Nuclear Force or Nuclear Decay.

Closer to reality, in The Star Jump Chronicles Universe, there is no Light Speed......there is no Warp Speed, unless you want to destroy the Galaxy......there are no transporters and definitely, no Blasters..... and no gravity on a Starship, unless you have an artificial gravity environment or an E.M.A.G.S.

Rather, the science of the Star Jump Chronicles is based on the actual science of today's world with just a little help from science fiction as in The Star Jump, a new, and exciting and yet a dangerous way to travel to the Stars and the Galactic Web which connects just about every Star in the Universe.

Oh, yeah, and I have purposely decided to use the Standard System of measure rather than the Metric System.

See?......Writing from an American standpoint, I know how far 500 miles is......just not 500 kilometers, lol.  Plus it sound cooler, hah!

Size Differences

I am often asked why the inhabitants of Planet Q are so small.

In comparing the Stars of our local neighborhood, you can see that they vary greatly in size.

As such is the case, then so would the Planets that orbit these Stars vary in size, as would the species that inhabit them.

The fourteen alien species in this quadrilogy range in average height from four to twenty-five feet.

Diamond Planet

A unique part of all Endeavour Class Starships is constructed of solid Diamond, mined from the Diamond Planet of Physidra, very cool.

Nuclear Fusion Engines?

Yeah, I got that.....and more.  All Endeavour Class Starships like, The Heavens, have the Ambient Plasma Fusion Drive engines with a top speed of 500 million miles per hour or 500M.

And it's a "Green" Starship, if you will.  Here are the slogs of Interplanetary travel as it will be in an estimated thirty years from now, lol.

Alas as of 2018, here is how we are currently getting to space.
